Mary’s Story
“I was lacking confidence and did not think I would be able to do a receptionist role when I first started working with my support worker. I would often get disheartened and unmotivated when I was unsuccessful in past applications. By gaining this job offer, my confidence has come back and I feel like my life is back on track again.”
My Journey to Employment
I have been on the IPS journey since June 2022. I have past experience working as an administrator in a housing association. I have been out of work for over 5 years and became unwell in that role.
I have just secured a receptionist job offer from Camden Disability Action (CDA). I have been given a start date in April. I found the role at the Greenwood center by myself. I was supported with my supporting statement for the role. I have also had multiple mock interviews for the job.
I was lacking confidence and did not think I would be able to do a receptionist role when I first started working with my support worker. I would often get disheartened and unmotivated when I was unsuccessful in past applications. By gaining this job offer, my confidence has come back and I feel like my life is back on track again.
I have been very thankful for the support that I have been given. I am now being guided and supported through the employment screening process.
